Pulse Chronicles
Pulse Chronicles (originally The Weekly Pulse) is an American general-interest newspaper and magazine founded in Atlanta, Georgia, on August 14, 1978 by journalist Richard E. Spoon (1941–2025). The publication operated in print for approximately four decades before entering print hibernation in 2019. Its masthead, trademarks, and editorial archive were acquired in May 2025 by Peachtree Editorial Holdings LLC, an Atlanta-based media company, which relaunched the title as a digital-first newsroom in 2025–2026.

History
Founding and print era (1978–2007)
Pulse Chronicles was founded as The Weekly Pulse on August 14, 1978, at 145 Edgewood Avenue SE in downtown Atlanta. The paper was established by Richard E. Spoon, a former city-desk reporter at The Atlanta Constitution, together with a founding staff of twelve. It launched as a weekly tabloid broadsheet covering Georgia politics, business, culture, and civic affairs. In 1984 it adopted the current masthead, Pulse Chronicles, reflecting the addition of long-form and archival reporting alongside its news pages.
National magazine period (2007–2019)
In 2007 the paper reorganized into a monthly national magazine format, with an audited circulation that peaked at approximately 214,000 subscribers by 2012. The editorial operation was headquartered in Atlanta throughout this period, with bureaus in Washington, D.C. and New York. Following industry-wide contraction in print advertising, Spoon suspended print publication in March 2019 and placed the title into hibernation.
Hibernation and conglomerate custody (2019–2025)
Between 2019 and 2025 the masthead, trademarks, and roughly 1,800-piece editorial archive were held by a regional media conglomerate under a maintenance license. No new editorial content was produced during this period.
Acquisition and digital relaunch (2025–2026)
Richard E. Spoon died on April 14, 2025. In May 2025, the Pulse Chronicles masthead, trademarks, and archival property were transferred from the prior custodial owner to Peachtree Editorial Holdings LLC, a newly formed Atlanta-based media company. The new ownership relaunched Pulse Chronicles as a digital-first newsroom in late 2025, with a full digital front page and rotating daily section publishing cadence entering service in 2026. The full pre-2019 archive was retained under the site's Chronicles section.

Editorial operation

All published articles are attributed to named human editors and reviewed before publication.
